Christian Leadership Development Center

The goal of the Christian Leadership Development Center is to develop Christian leaders for effective ministry and leadership to change the world. By providing adults with an in-depth understanding of the Word of God, leadership and valuable ministry skills, Christians will be equipped to serve as effective leaders and ministers in churches, businesses, and in their current and future leadership roles. Our aim is to produce spiritually mature men and women who are able to understand and use God’s Word effectively in their own lives and in their ministries. At the same time, we want to enable Christian leaders in secular leadership roles to excel without compromising their Christian values. There are three tracks designed to three classifications of leaders; Christian Leadership, Ministers in Training, and Ministry:

This value-based leadership track involves a study of biblical “servanthood” and spiritual formation as the essence of effective Christian leadership. In light of contemporary interest in the subject of leadership, students will examine biblical models of servant leadership, situational leadership and other transformational approaches for practicing leadership as Christians. Ministers in Training

For individuals entering and currently involved in ministry, the CL Development Center provides immediate applicable knowledge and ministry-enhancing practical skills. This track will provide those “called” to local church ministry with the skills to serve the body of Christ in various congregational leadership roles including:

	pastoring,
	associate ministry,
	pastoral care,
	church planting, etc.

Completion of this program of study (or an approved comparable program) is required for those seeking ministerial licensure from Mount Moriah Baptist Church.
 

Ministry

This track is designed to equip mature church members through a study of foundational theological principles related to the development and exercise of Christian leadership in the church. Special attention is given to the spiritual formation of Christians as servants in society. This program is based on the premise that every Christian should serve in ministry; hence, students are equipped to serve in areas such as teaching, counseling, evangelism, missions, etc.

This well-balanced curriculum features a comprehensive overview of both the Old and New Testament Scriptures,
as well as an in-depth examination of the major theological foundations of the Christian church. The program provides rich insights into the character of God and helps individuals develop the personal and spiritual disciplines necessary to become effective servants of Christ. The curriculum of this program is specifically designed to accommodate the adult learner by enhancing critical thinking, communication skills, and interpersonal skills with the goal of preparing the individual for an active leadership role and testimony in ministry or the workplace.
